Backyard Bible Club, June ‘06
Though many of the principles of community development we believe in can be used by anyone with good effect, we definitely believe that, without spiritual change, communities can only change so much.
Many of our neighbor kids have never set foot in a church or heard about Jesus. We are grateful to our friends at Hope Chapel who brought over a wonderful bilingual team for four nights of “Backyard Bible Club” at our house in June. We had 25 kids and adults show up, and the kids had a blast. Most of all, they got loved on. On Friday, we all piled into vans and went to a big kids carnival at Hope.
This is one of the benefits of living where we are trying to serve. We were able to connect the gifts that the Hope team had to give with the kids and families that we have become friends with. We can’t wait to host “BBC” again in ’07!
